Robert E. Helms, Jr. (NMLS #85737) graduated from Furman University in 1991. Mr. Helms has 29 years of experience in the mortgage industry ranging from ownership to consistently being a top producer. Mr. Helms was an owner of a successful mortgage company where he hired, trained, and supported loan officers across the states of North Carolina and South Carolina while he also grew his personal customer network. Mr. Helms’ mortgage company was sold to Berkshire Hathaway in 2004, and he remained with that company until 2014.

Over the course of his career and through superior customer service, Mr. Helms has been successful in building long term relationships with clients and referral partners by understanding all aspects of their business requirements and the appropriate use of mortgage products to accomplish their objectives. Mr. Helms’ vast experience includes all areas of mortgage production, operations, sales, training, and relationship management. In Dec 2014, Mr. Helms founded Helms Mortgage LLC – a mortgage broker located in NC and currently licensed in NC, SC, and VA.
